Salary Details: Competitive
Purpose: to manage the financial risks of Speedy Hire PLC and its subsidiaries in accordance with the Group’s Board approved policies and make such recommendations on the setting of policies as, in the professional judgement of the Group Treasurer, are required to efficiently manage the financial risks faced by the business over time.

* The ongoing setting and effecting of treasury policies to manage the Group’s financial risks including, but not exclusively –* Liquidity – ensuring that the Group at all times has sufficient funds available to meet its liabilities as they fall due ;* Funding – with the Head of Finance UK & Ireland and Director of Finance determine the funding arrangements to be put in place for the Group to meet its ongoing strategic plans;* Interest rates – ensure that appropriate hedging is effected and properly recorded in accordance with Group policy and determine the effectiveness of different hedging instruments and strategies sufficient to be able to put forward for Board approval; and* Ensure that the Group’s operational financial risks, such as the operation of its banking arrangements, appropriate documentation and controls over receipts and payments, are in place and working effectively. * Ensuring the Group’s transactional banking requirements, including are structured and operate in accordance with Group policy and are effective in meeting the Group’s requirements;* Ensure that all bank mandates, including treasury dealing, are up to date and all authorities and authorised persons are up to date;* Manage the Group’s electronic banking systems to ensure that they operate within policy and have the levels of controls to ensure appropriately effective security over the Group’s funds;* Ensure that the Group remains at all times within the requirements of its borrowing facilities and if breaches are likely or do occur that these are identified and communicated as soon as possible;* Support and assist the Head of Finance UK & Ireland and the Director of Finance in raising finance, including the review and negotiation of facility documentation;* Manage drawdowns under the Group’s facilities and the depositing of excess funds and undertake dealing in approved instruments, such as interest rate swaps or forward foreign exchange contracts, in accordance with Group policy;* Liaise with relevant finance personnel across the Group to ensure that correct practices are undertaken in relation to financial risks, for example not sharing of passwords for electronic banking systems, and information requirements are met;* Drive good practice through the business to ensure cash generation is maximised;* Undertake such ad hoc projects and exercises as required by the Head of Finance UK & Ireland and Director of Finance.Facilitate, manage and integrate all Treasury activities in relation to acquisitions.
* Educated to degree standard* Experience of operational treasury with at least one year of management experience;* Excellent inter-personal skills to be able to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels across the Group;* Robust approach to ensuring policies are implemented across the Group and that controls and management instructions are effected; and* Possessing a good sense of initiative, judgement and ability to work independently to identify risk and take appropriate actions.Desirable
