Do you suffer from lower back pain?
Yoga can be a great tool for easing lower back sensitivity and cultivating healing.
In this gentle 6 week course, Sam will guide you through a range of yoga poses to improve your awareness of your posture and build your back strength where needed.
We’ll talk about anatomy and work on developing healthy postural and movement habits. We’ll also discuss how nearby muscles such as the abdominal muscles and inner thighs can help to support the lower back and facilitate improved spinal alignment.
Utilising props, including the wall and chairs, each week we’ll repeat poses that can build your stamina and strength but also discover ways to find comfort when your back is sensitive.
Not only will we work through modifications and variations of physical postures but explore how breathing and meditation can assist with pain through its calming effect on the nervous system.
Every session will end with a restorative relaxation that supports your lower back, to give it the love it needs.

This course will be throughout the summer on Friday lunchtimes, 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Kennington Scout Hut (TN24 9AS) See our venues page for details. Starting 20th July each week until 24th August inclusive. The cost for the course is £36.
Please bring a yoga mat plus a small blanket, all other props will be provided for you.
